Life in the music industry has been tough for two-time Cracker Barrel Employee of the Month Ciara. After having to admit that she flopped massively, I thought there was nowhere to go but up for ol’ girl. Shit, she even got LA Reid to believe in her fairytale & fallacy comeback. Were we going to witness the comeback of Ciara in our lifetime? Would the Basic Instinct songstress be able to make her scalp touch her toes somewhere other than in an Arby’s parking lot?
Apparently not. After a string of chart-bottoming floaters, Ciara found herself benchwarming the cold seat of public apathy. Nothing seemed to be drawing much attention to her upcoming comeback album, One Woman Army (affectionately named after her fanbase).
By delivering a lukewarm performance of her new Janet Jackson cover single Body Party in a bathroom, Ciara has hit legendary territory. Much like Keri Hilson, who performed a career-ending set at a Walmart parking lot to celebrate her debut at the bottom of a Walmart clearance bin, Ciara has cut out the middle man. Forget the record label, forget tickets and forget sales; Ciara’s delivering her sure to be hit single straight to where it belongs - the toilet.
and let me tell you something, people are finally paying attention.
